Important caveat: elite Death Knight players will dominate damage meters, while average performers won’t approach similar numbers. Understanding that Unholy DK represents the premier damage source in Phase 2 should motivate players to prepare their alternate characters promptly.

Affliction Warlock

Warlocks represent exceptional value in Ulduar, with Affliction specialization performing like premium currency as the undisputed execution phase champion. It’s completely plausible to witness four or five Warlocks occupying the top meter positions in average pickup groups.

Combat Rogue

Combat Rogues demonstrate phenomenal scaling with the recently enhanced Ulduar gear. As Phase 2 progresses, Combat Rogues consistently rank near the peak performance across virtually every encounter.

Demonology Warlock

Few groups operate 25-player raids without including Demonology Warlocks. They provide the ultimate damage amplification for raid compositions while maintaining consistent top-meter performance in raw damage output.

Assassination Rogue

Assassination Rogues deliver absolutely monstrous damage, to the extent that their absence from the top DPS meter positions would be genuinely surprising.

Frost Death Knight

Frost Death Knights not only produce exceptional damage numbers but also contribute significant utility to raid compositions.

A Tier

Survival Hunter

Virtually every raid leader enthusiastically welcomes Survival Hunters due to their combination of substantial damage output and exceptional utility through misdirection capabilities and replenishment effects.

Enhancement Shaman

Raid compositions actively seek Enhancement Shaman participation, primarily for their utility contributions rather than pure damage potential. The consistent ability for Enhancement Shamans to deliver top-five damage performance represents a significant advantage for any raid group.

Arcane Mage

My personal experience playing this class through Ulduar revealed absolutely dominant damage potential. However, the primary limitation for Mages involves vulnerability to mechanics, as evidenced by spending considerable time resurrecting our Arcane and Fire Mage specialists.

Marksmanship Hunter

Feral Druid

Elemental Shaman
