Flame Leviathan presents a unique vehicle-based encounter where traditional gear still matters significantly. This means equipping your highest ilvl items in every available socket directly enhances your vehicle’s combat capabilities.

The encounter features three specialized vehicle types, each accommodating both a driver and passenger with limited quantities available. Understanding each vehicle’s role and maximizing their synergy is the key to success.

Unlike conventional boss encounters, Flame Leviathan operates without a standard threat table. Instead, it aggressively pursues Demolishers and Siege Engines, completely ignoring Choppers. This targeting behavior creates distinct tactical opportunities – Choppers operate with enhanced mobility and evasion capabilities while the boss focuses on heavier vehicles.

As the battle progresses, Flame Leviathan gradually accelerates its movement speed while periodically activating Flame Vents. This devastating raid-wide damage ability can only be interrupted by Siege Engine drivers operating at close range, making positioning and energy management critical factors.

For standard mode execution, Siege Engine drivers should prioritize maintaining sufficient energy reserves (minimum 30) for immediate Flame Vent interruption. The Ram ability provides minor damage and knockback utility, while Dash offers crucial repositioning to evade dangerous situations.

Advanced strategy involves energy conservation for interrupt duties – avoid spending your last 30 energy on other abilities. Siege Engine passengers bear responsibility for deploying protective shields during critical moments – these have extended cooldowns requiring strategic timing.

Air defense represents the most critical passenger responsibility. Flying targets that drop pyrite and additional aerial mobs must be eliminated using Anti-Air Rockets, which have no cooldown but consume energy rapidly. Prioritize eliminating all airborne threats before engaging in secondary damage activities.

Choppers provide unique tactical advantages with superior speed and immunity from boss pursuit. Their oil slick deployment and ignition capabilities generate valuable area damage, while passenger healing abilities become particularly relevant in hard mode scenarios.

Demolishers deliver their primary value through Liquid Pyrite application. While Cannonballs offer minimal direct damage, Liquid Pyrite consumes 10% vehicle mana per shot, applying a substantial damage-over-time effect that stacks multiple times, significantly accelerating the boss’s defeat when properly managed.

Razorscale offers an optional encounter without hard mode variations, focusing on precise add control and timing. The battle initiates with continuous dwarf defender spawns that must be systematically eliminated while preparing the harpoon assault system.

Strategic harpoon deployment doesn’t require waiting for all four to charge simultaneously. You can activate available harpoons individually as they become ready, though coordinated simultaneous firing typically yields superior results.

Add elimination priority follows this sequence: Dark Rune Watchers (chain lightning casters), followed by Dark Rune Guardians, then Dark Rune Sentinels. Proper target prioritization dramatically reduces raid damage intake and accelerates phase transitions.

Dark Rune Watchers pose the greatest threat with their chain lightning spells, which can strike up to five targets. Immediate interruption is mandatory to prevent substantial raid-wide damage.

Dark Rune Sentinels employ devastating whirlwind attacks requiring off-tank separation from the main raid group to minimize collateral damage.

Upon successfully grounding Razorscale using the harpoon system, immediately activate Heroism/Bloodlust. During this critical burn phase, healers may contribute damage output while maintaining essential healing to push the phase transition as rapidly as possible.

Ignis represents another skippable encounter lacking hard mode mechanics, centered around environmental manipulation and add management.

Scorch creates a frontal cone attack targeting the current tank, leaving persistent burning terrain at their location. This requires immediate tank repositioning and strict avoidance by other raid members from the boss’s forward arc.

The Slag Pot ability randomly seizes a player, immobilizing them while permitting most actions including healing spells. The captured individual suffers massive fire damage over time, demanding focused healer attention throughout the duration.

Upon release from the Slag Pot, the affected player receives a substantial haste buff lasting several seconds, compensating for damage output interruption.

Flame Jets inflicts high raid-wide damage while interrupting spellcasting for eight seconds. Casters must immediately cease spellcasting when Flame Jets begins to avoid the extended interruption penalty.

Iron Construct summoning forms the encounter’s core mechanic. Each active construct increases Ignis’s damage output, creating escalating pressure. However, direct construct elimination proves inefficient due to their massive health pools.

The optimal strategy involves off-tanks gathering constructs and maneuvering them onto scorched ground areas. Maintaining position for several seconds accumulates heat stacks, eventually transforming constructs into molten state.

Advanced technique recommends dragging constructs to scorched terrain followed by root effects. Skilled off-tanks can maintain constructs in the scorched areas without personally standing in the damaging terrain.

Once constructs reach maximum heat stacks, reposition them to water areas where they become brittle, requiring only minimal damage to shatter them completely.

XT-002 presents a mandatory encounter featuring hard mode mechanics that activate under specific conditions. The boss periodically targets random players with Searing Light or Gravity Bomb, both requiring immediate isolation from the raid group.

Searing Light inflicts immediate periodic area damage upon detonation, necessitating rapid displacement from other raiders.

Gravity Bomb initially appears harmless but culminates in massive damage while pulling debuffed players toward the epicenter.

During hard mode activation, Searing Light spawns Life Sparks upon expiration – mobile adds requiring immediate off-tank acquisition.

Strategic positioning when targeted by Searing Light involves moving toward off-tank positions to facilitate rapid add control and minimize raid disruption.
